The police carried an awareness drive to inform students and locals about the trip monitoring system, crime prevention, cyber safety and drug abuse at Majri and Haripur villages as well as the Sector-2 and Sector-4 markets.
The officials explained the trip monitoring system, which allows women and girl students traveling alone to register for enhanced safety during their journeys. They also advised attendees to remain vigilant against crimes targeting children and to report any suspicious activity promptly.
In addition to safety measures, the police provided information on preventing cyber crimes, urging people to be cautious while sharing personal details online and to report financial fraud or cyber fraud to helpline number 1930. Concerns related to drug abuse were also discussed, with an appeal to the public to stay away from substance addiction.
During the awareness session, local residents raised issues, including a request for increased police patrolling. Police officials assured them that their concerns would be addressed and encouraged the public to report any criminal activities to facilitate effective law enforcement.
The awareness initiative aimed to equip participants with essential knowledge about security measures and available services. Police officials stated that such programs would continue in the future.
