Chandigarh Police has made some changes in the security protocol during the check post. Now the police personnel will stand behind the barricading at the check post, not in front of it. After the death of a Chandigarh Police constable and a Home Guard volunteer on the Chandigarh/Zirakpur border, Chandigarh SSP Kanwardeep Kaur has ordered that this step has been taken to avoid speeding drivers.
At the same time, the Chandigarh Police Administration has issued instructions to all police personnel to donate one day’s salary for the financial assistance of the family of Constable Sukhdarshan and Home Guard volunteer Rajesh, who lost their lives in a road accident. However, many jawans have expressed displeasure over this decision and raised the question that why such financial assistance was not given to the families of policemen who lost their lives in accidents before.
The police was checking the Baleno car
According to the police, Constable Sukhdarshan and volunteer Rajesh had stopped the Baleno car for checking at the Chandigarh-Zirakpur check post. Then suddenly a high-speed Polo car came from behind. He hit the Baleno car and the policemen standing at the check post. Along with this, a case has also been registered against the driver Govind, a resident of Hallomajra, and three minors sitting inside the car.
During this time, the car driver was also standing with the police. In the collision, all three people got hit by the car. The police had installed barbed wire at the check post for safety. All three jumped and got stuck in the wires and their bodies were torn into pieces. Even the hands and legs of the police personnel were torn apart.
Constable’s wife is also in the police
Deceased constable Sukhdarshan’s wife Renu is also in the Chandigarh Police. She is posted in Sector-19 police station. Homeguard Rajesh was a resident of Gurdaspur, Punjab. He lived in Sector-31. Earlier, he was posted in the traffic police.
