There is good news for those starting a startup in Chandigarh. Now they will get help from the government. Chandigarh’s startup policy has finally been approved. Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria have approved this policy.
It will be officially announced next week. Government and private colleges have also been included in this policy. There is a provision to give Rs 10 crore every year in this policy. Work will be done on it for 5 years.
Work started in 2018
The making of this policy started in 2018 and it has been approved after almost 7 years. Its purpose is to make Chandigarh a city where people starting new businesses can get all kinds of help.
Online portal and monitoring committee will also be formed
Under the policy, an online portal named ‘Start in Chandigarh’ will be created where all the information related to startups will be available. A big committee will be formed to oversee the policy which will be headed by the Chief Secretary of Chandigarh. Apart from this, another committee will be formed under the chairmanship of the Secretary of the Department of Industry which will implement this policy on the ground.
This policy will be in force for 5 years and changes will be made every year as per the need, so that startups keep getting the right help at the right time.
