In Panchkula Civil Hospital, the nursing staff left work and held a gate meeting and accused the hospital administration of deliberately harassing them. State head of Nursing Welfare Association, Vinita Kumari said that the Civil Surgeon is sending the nursing staff on deputation in violation of rules.
Under deputation, they are being sent to PHCs and CHCs of Pinjore, Nanakpur, Kot, Morni etc. She said that no doctor is assigned duty in the evening and night at the above mentioned places and the nursing staff is forced to treat or deliver patients without a doctor.
Vinita Kumari also said that while returning from duty at PHC Kot, some mischievous elements misbehaved and molested her staff nurse, about which she had also complained to the hospital administration. It has been alleged that when they went to meet the Civil Surgeon on this issue, they were threatened of spoiling their ACR and getting them transferred.
The Nursing Welfare Association has also written a letter to the Chief Minister and senior officials of the Health Department in this regard. At present, in this context, the nursing staff today left work for two hours in the hospital and held a gate meeting and demanded action from the government.
