It has been decided to increase the validity period of All India Tourist Permit in Haryana from nine years to 12 years. The validity period of the tourist permit of the Central Government is also 12 years.
Transport Minister Anil Vij has taken this decision on the demand of tourists and people working in the tourism sector. He said that a notification will be issued soon, so that people can get the benefit of this decision.
The Transport Minister said that a proposal was sent to Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini to increase the validity period of All India Tourist Permit from nine years to 12 years.
Taxi Operator Union had made the request
The Chief Minister has approved this proposal. Recently, the officials of Ambala Taxi Operator Union had requested the Transport Minister to bring uniformity in the validity of tourist permit, after which the Transport Minister directed the officials of his department to make a proposal.
Permits are also given for 12 years in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. This decision of the Haryana government will benefit taxi operators of the entire state.
Anil Vij said that the period of nine years for petrol/CNG vehicles in the NCR region from the date of registration of the tourist vehicle for tourist permit has been increased to 12 years, whereas the period for diesel vehicles in the NCR region has been increased from nine years to 10 years.
