After the increase in corruption in the Transport Department, the Punjab government has transferred officers. On Wednesday, one IAS and 55 PCS officers have been transferred.
Of these, 21 transfers have been done of the Transport Department and 22 transfers of the Chief Minister’s field officers. The Transport Department has been facing corruption charges for a long time regarding driving license and fitness checking.
Vigilance had raided RTO offices across the state in the month of April. However, later the Punjab government suspended Vigilance Chief SPS Parmar along with AIG Flying Wing Swarndeep Singh and SSP Vigilance Jalandhar Harpreet Mander regarding the driving license scam.
Transfers after suspension of 3 officers
12 days after the suspension of three officers including the Vigilance Chief, the Punjab Government has made major changes in the Transport Department. According to the orders issued, IAS officer Divya P. has been appointed as SDM Kharar.

Lovejit Kalsi has been appointed as Additional State Transport Commissioner, Balbir Raj as Secretary Regional Transport Authority Jalandhar, Irwan Kaur as SDM Kapurthala additionally Regional Transport Officer Kapurthala, Amanpal Singh as Regional Transport Officer Jalandhar, Rajpal Singh Sekhon as Regional Transport Officer Mohali and Kapil Jindal as Regional Transport Officer Tarn Taran.
Chief Minister’s Field Officer Khush Preet Singh has been appointed as Amritsar, Vishal Vats as Kapurthala, Gurmeet Singh as Mohali, Navdeep Singh as Jalandhar, Karanveer Singh as Tarn Taran.

Shayari Malhotra has been appointed as SDM Jalandhar-2, Rohit Jindal as Assistant Commissioner (General) Jalandhar, Amandeep as Assistant Commissioner (General) Amritsar, Jai Inder Singh as SDM Phillaur.
