Demand for special package for border areas, delegation will meet central government

Governor Gulab Chand Kataria said that a delegation of political parties will soon meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi to demand a special package for the development of border areas. Kataria said that earlier the border areas used to get Border Development Fund, which has been stopped for a long time.

After the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, Governor Kataria and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann addressed the journalists on Saturday evening. The Governor said that in view of the tension between India and Pakistan, he held two separate meetings with representatives of religious and political parties on Saturday, in which everyone assured that the country comes first, everything else comes later. Everyone assured all kinds of cooperation with the army and administration.

It has also been suggested in the meeting that the Border Development Fund should be restarted and special facilities should be given to the people of the border areas. The Governor said that people were angry after the killing of 26 innocent tourists in Pahalgam. People wanted the terrorists to be taught a lesson. The country’s army also destroyed the terrorist hideouts in Pakistan.

Pakistan tried to target Pathankot, Amritsar, Gurdaspur and Chandigarh, but the army gave a befitting reply. The Chief Minister praised the bravery of the Indian Army and said that Punjab is closest to Pakistan. Most of the drones were fired in many districts of Punjab. Which were destroyed by the army and there was no loss of life but the financial loss will be estimated.

Attention will be given to giving special concessions to the border area: Mann

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that special attention will be given to giving concessions in the border area. Earlier, border area allowance was given to the employees posted on the border. The government will consider starting it again. Most importantly, there is a need to create confidence in the industries. Development will happen only when industries are set up. Mann said that the youth of the border area should get special concessions in army recruitment.
