Punjab BJP president Sunil Jakhar on Saturday welcomed the ceasefire decision, underlining that Pakistan has finally come to its senses after India’s firm action against terrorism through Operation Sindoor.
He said that India under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi has given a clear message to Pakistan that promoting and supporting terrorism will not be accepted at any cost.
What did Sunil Jakhar say?
Jakhar said that India under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi stands by its time-proven commitment to global peace. He said that our defense forces have given a message to Pakistan through Operation Sindoor that cross-border terrorism is unacceptable.
During the meeting, Jakhar also raised the demand for a special economic package from the Center to mitigate the losses suffered by Punjab’s trade and business during this conflict, which was welcomed by all the leaders present in the meeting, including the Governor and Chief Minister of Punjab.
People need to be alert
Jakhar said, given the forward position of Punjab, we have sacrificed a lot in every war. Punjab has suffered a lot and in every such conflict, apart from loss of life and property, our trade and business also suffers, which requires a package to mitigate our losses and help Punjab.
Responding to a question, Jakhar also stressed that we need to remain vigilant so as to prevent any further attempt by Pakistan to send terrorists into our border.
