The police team of Crime Branch-26 in Panchkula, under the leadership of ACP Arvind Kamboj, has succeeded in arresting 3 snatchers involved in a snatching case. These include two minors. One of their accomplices has already been arrested by the police.
According to the information, on March 24, 2024, Chhote Lal had lodged a complaint at Sector-25 police post, stating that he lives in a rented house in Sector-26 Panchkula and works as a cleaner in a bar. On the night of March 18/19, as soon as he reached the street behind Krishna Sweets after finishing his duty, four boys walking from behind surrounded him and first asked for money. When he refused, they snatched his phone and fled from there.
On the basis of the complaint, the team of Crime Branch-26 arrested accused Lucky on March 28, 2024. The police was looking for the remaining accused for a long time. Now ASI Neeraj Kumar, who is investigating this case, with the help of the team, arrested 2 minors who were involved in this snatching incident on 8 May 2025 and presented them before the Juvenile Justice Officer and sent them to the Child Reform Home Ambala.
Apart from this, the fourth accused was also arrested on 9 May on the basis of secret information from Moginand in Panchkula. The accused has been identified as Sachin alias Ganja resident of Mau district Uttar Pradesh, currently a tenant in Sector-26 Panchkula. The accused had fled to Uttar Pradesh after the incident. Now he had come back to Panchkula in search of work.
The accused had started working at a Kash Wash Center in Moginand a few days ago, which the police caught on the spot. Today the accused has been produced in the court and sent to judicial custody. The police has already recovered the mobile from the first accused Lucky.
