New bridge will be built between Chandigarh-Panchkula road: Relief from traffic jam, plan to make alternative route also, consultant submitted report

Date:

People traveling between Chandigarh and Panchkula are going to get a big relief soon. A new high-level bridge is going to be built on Sukhna-Cho near Bapu Dham Colony in Sector-26. This new bridge, which will be built in place of the old low-level bridge, will be a permanent solution to the problem of waterlogging and traffic jams during rainy days.

The existing bridge closes every time during the rainy season, due to which people going towards Manimajra, IT Park and Mata Mansa Devi Complex have to face a lot of problems. But the new high-level bridge will eliminate this problem. This bridge will be higher in height, so that rainwater and debris can pass easily from below.

New bridge to be built between Chandigarh-Panchkula

There will be relief from traffic jam, plan to build an alternative route too, consultant submitted report

A detailed report related to the project has been submitted by the government, in which hydraulic study, topographic survey and soil quality have been examined. According to the officials, now the tender for this project will be issued soon.

The municipal corporation’s water line passes over the bridge. This is also being shifted now. For this, big pillars are being built along the bridge, on which new pipelines will be laid.

A new route will be prepared from Hallomajra via Dadwa village

Not only the bridge, the administration is also working on an alternative route. This new route will start from Hallomajra Light Point and connect to the main road of Panchkula via Makhan Majra, the back side of the industrial area and Dariya village. This will also reduce the traffic pressure on the existing middle route.

While planning the project, experts examined the traffic movement in depth. For this, information about the number and type of vehicle was collected using special types of cameras. Along with this, the damage caused by the water released from Sukhna Lake in the year 2023 was also studied. So that such a situation does not arise again in future.
