Decision on 5 new districts in Haryana next week: Cabinet sub-committee’s homework completed; report will be sent to CM for approval

Date:

5 new districts may be declared soon in Haryana. The cabinet sub-committee has completed its deliberations regarding their creation. If departmental sources are to be believed, the final meeting of the sub-committee will be held next week, in which the final report on the creation of new districts will be prepared and sent to the government.

For this, the homework of the sub-committee is largely complete. The 5 areas for which the sub-committee has received the demand to make them districts include Hansi, Dabwali, Assandh, Gohana and Safidon.

Along with this, the demand to make Manesar a new district has also reached the committee, but in the last meeting the sub-committee did not receive the complete documents of the related proposal. Dozens of proposals to create new divisions, sub-divisions and tehsils in the state are also pending with the committee, on which a decision can be taken in the next meeting.

The special thing is that Haryana BJP has also increased the number of districts by 5 in terms of its organization. These include Hansi, Gohana, Dabwali, Gurugram Mahanagar and Ballabhgarh. At the same time, Hansi and Dabwali have already become police districts in the state.

The government has given extension to the cabinet sub-committee

The sub-committee was constituted by the government on 4 December 2024 under the chairmanship of the state’s Development and Panchayat Minister Krishna Lal Panwar. The tenure of this committee was completed on 4 March 2025, which has now been extended till 30 June 2025.

Additional Chief Secretary and Finance Commissioner Revenue of Revenue and Disaster Management Department Dr. Sumita Mishra had issued orders to extend the tenure of the sub-committee. This committee includes Revenue and Local Bodies Minister Vipul Goyal, Minister in Parliamentary Affairs Mahipal Singh Dhanda and Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana.

4 meetings of the committee have been held so far

4 meetings of the sub-committee have been held so far regarding the creation of new districts. In this, instructions have been given to the concerned administration to study the demand received from the districts. In the earlier meetings of the cabinet sub-committee, it has been decided that the recommendation of the Deputy Commissioners is necessary for the creation of new districts, sub-divisions, sub-tehsils and new tehsils in Haryana. The proposal of the MLA, Nagar Palika or Municipal Corporation of the concerned assembly constituency has been made mandatory for the block committee.

Indications were also given to create new divisions

In the last meeting of the sub-committee, the creation of new divisions along with new districts was also discussed. The committee had asked the Deputy Commissioners to get the necessary documents completed and send them to the Cabinet Sub-Committee, so that a decision can be taken on them. Under this, a report has been sent to the committee by the Deputy Commissioners, on which the committee will deliberate in this meeting.

Panwar said- will take decision by next week

Haryana’s Development and Panchayat Minister Krishan Lal Panwar has said that the report on creating new districts in the state will be finalized by next week.
