Now strict action will be taken against drug smugglers in Chandigarh. To crack down on them, instructions were given to take strict action against drug smugglers in the 8th state level NCORD meeting held at the UT Secretariat.
Chandigarh Chief Secretary Rajiv Verma, who chaired the meeting, told the officials that the properties earned from drug smuggling should be seized and frozen under the NDPS Act. He said that the investigation should be continued even after the charge sheet is filed, so that the entire network can be exposed and the root of the drug business can be reached.
Rajiv Verma also talked about sensitizing the employees of courier companies, aggregator apps like Ola, Uber, Rapido about the dangers of drug smuggling. He said that special awareness and training sessions should be organized for these service providers, so that these platforms are not misused for the delivery of drugs.
Orders to police to crack down
Chief Secretary Rajiv Verma has instructed the police to deal strictly with drug sellers and said that both the drug user and the supplier in the city should be caught and sent behind bars.
The chain from where the smugglers bring the drugs should also be broken, so that the young generation can be saved from this addiction. It was also said that no leniency will be shown to them. If anyone does this, he will not be spared, because many families have been destroyed due to drugs.
