The case filed by Congress Legislature Party leader Pratap Singh Bajwa in Punjab regarding 50 bombs will be heard in the Punjab and Haryana High Court today (May 22). During this, the police will present its detailed investigation report. However, the court had made it clear that Bajwa should not be harassed under the guise of investigation. Earlier, senior advocate RS Cheema, on behalf of Bajwa, told the High Court that Bajwa is cooperating in the investigation of this case, but the police is harassing him by sending him notices repeatedly.

First interrogation, then asked for phone password

So far, the investigation committee of this case has investigated Pratap Singh Bajwa at the Cyber ​​Crime Police Station in Mohali. He was interrogated once on April 19 and the second time on April 25. On April 25, he was interrogated for about 6 and a half hours. While it is learned that he was called for interrogation on May 6 as well,

but he did not appear. On the other hand, Bajwa had deposited his mobile phone. Also, now he was given a notice to tell the password of the phone. During this, details of all the mobile phones and SIMs used in two years were sought. Bajwa had objected to this. He had argued that he was fully cooperating in the investigation. This is a violation of his privacy.

Controversy arose after the TV interview

Bajwa had said in an interview to a TV channel, “50 grenades had come to Punjab, out of which 18 have been used, while 32 are left.” After this statement, an FIR was registered against him on April 13 at the Cyber ​​Crime Police Station in Mohali on the complaint of a female police employee. After the FIR was registered, he was also interrogated for about 6 hours.

Police reached Bajwa’s house

The controversy started as soon as the teaser of the interview was released on April 13. On the same day at 12 noon, AIG Counter Intelligence Ravjot Grewal reached Bajwa’s house and asked him the source of information about the grenades, but Bajwa did not cooperate in the investigation. After this, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann released a video and questioned Bajwa that from where did he get this information? Does he have connections with Pakistan, that terrorists are directly calling him and giving information? The Chief Minister also asked that when this information is neither with the state intelligence nor with the central agencies, was Bajwa waiting for these bomb blasts so that he could do politics.

FIR and court procedure

On the evening of 13 April, the police sent summons to Bajwa for questioning and asked him to appear on 14 April at 12 noon. Bajwa did not appear that day and his lawyers asked for a day’s time. After this, he was called on 15 April at 2 pm. On the same day, Bajwa’s lawyers filed a petition in the High Court and he was handed over a copy of the FIR at 4 pm.

Called to the police station and questioned

On April 15, Pratap Singh Bajwa filed a petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court to quash the case registered against him. In the afternoon of the same day, Congress leaders and their supporters gathered in Chandigarh. After this, Bajwa was questioned by Mohali police from 2:30 pm to 8 pm. During this time, Congress leaders also protested outside the cyber police station. After this, he was questioned for about six and a half hours on April 25.
