Big news has come out regarding the security of Chandigarh. Terrorists and gangsters sitting abroad are conspiring to disturb this peaceful city. According to the information, during Operation Sindoor, when the Indian Army was taking action against the terrorists hiding in Pakistan, a conspiracy was being hatched to shake Chandigarh. However, this conspiracy failed due to the vigilance of the police.
Earlier, the terrorists had expressed their intentions by attacking a bungalow in the posh area of Sector-10. These cases are being investigated by the Chandigarh Police as well as the NIA. It is worth noting that Chandigarh is one of the safest cities in the country. Due to the vigilance of the security agencies, there is peace in the city at the moment.
Grenade thrown in posh area
Earlier, on 9 September 2024, terrorists sitting abroad threw a grenade at the house of retired Principal KK Malhotra from Himachal Pradesh through their henchmen in the posh area of Sector-10 in Chandigarh. However, luckily the family members survived the incident. At that time KK Malhotra was reading a book. As soon as he got up and went inside, this incident happened outside.
His family members also saw the bomb throwers. The bomb fell in the park built by the house and an 8-inch crater was formed there. The pots planted in the park and the glass in the windows were broken. Along with this, the glass of many other houses was also broken. Before the retired principal, retired SSP Harkirat Singh of Punjab Police used to live in this house.
After this, the police brought out the role of terrorist Happy Pasia sitting abroad and terrorist Harvinder Singh Rinda hiding in Pakistan in this case. The police arrested four people in this case. At the same time, the NIA has started investigating this case. It has made four terrorists accused. These include terrorist Harvinder Singh Sandhu alias Rinda and US-based Harpreet Singh alias Happy Pasi.
The accused have been charged under several sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), Explosive Substances Act and other related provisions. The High Court, Punjab and Haryana Legislative Assembly, CM residence and renowned educational institutions are near the place where this incident took place.
Then a strategy was made to blow up the police stations
When the police stations in the border areas of Punjab were being attacked one after the other, the terrorists also tried to target the police stations of Chandigarh. The accused arrested by the police in the case of grenade attacks on the police stations of Punjab had told during interrogation that the police stations of Chandigarh were also on their target.
After this, the security of Sector-39 police station was increased and barricading is still installed there. The vehicles coming and going are checked and everyone coming to the police station is questioned. Also, the height of the walls of many police stations was increased. Apart from this, rules were also made to not let anyone go to the police headquarters.
Bomb blasts in the club before the Prime Minister’s visit
The Prime Minister of the country was coming to Chandigarh on 3 December 2024 to dedicate three criminal laws. Just before this, on 26 November 2024, there were blasts outside 2 clubs in Sector-26, Chandigarh. The blast outside Seville Bar and Lounge and Di’Ora Club broke the glass outside the club. One of these clubs belonged to the famous rapper Badshah.
In this case, Chandigarh and Haryana Police arrested two accused after an encounter. The accused told during interrogation that this task was assigned to them by Goldie Brar. The matter is being investigated by the police.
Mail to Mental Institute
The Mental Health Institute located in Sector-32, Chandigarh first received a bomb threat on 12 January 2025. A threatening mail was sent to the hospital, which read – “Bombs have been placed inside the psychiatric hospital. They will explode very soon. You all will die.” The police received this mail at 9:40 am.
After seeing the mail, the staff immediately informed the police about it. Also, bomb squad teams also reached the spot. After this the entire area was sealed. There were about 150 people in the hospital, including about 20 patients undergoing treatment, who were also evacuated. However, nothing was found in the investigation.
Attempts to terrorize Chandigarh even during Operation Sindoor
A few days ago, when the war was going on between India and Pakistan, the army was busy in Operation Sindoor. During this time, plans were being made to terrorize Chandigarh. On May 8, 2025, the Crime Branch arrested two accused of the terrorist Happy Pasia gang – Jobanjit Singh alias Billa, resident of Hardoh Putli, along with RDX from near Sector-39 Jeeri Mandi.
Both were residents of Amritsar, who were wanted in many terrorist cases. Jobanjit Singh is involved in cases like RPG attack on Kila Lal Singh police station in Amritsar, firing on a jeweler shop, firing on a liquor shop. Two cases of theft are also registered against him.
The second accused Sumandeep alias Simma, resident of village Chahla Kalan, Gurdaspur – is involved in cases of NDPS Act and theft including firing at liquor shop. 2 pistols (one 32 bore and one 30 bore), a total of 9 cartridges, one IED (Improvised Explosive Device), 2 circuits, 2 cells (battery unit), and a remote control have been recovered from them. During interrogation, the accused confessed that they work for terrorist Happy Pasiya and the Chandigarh police station was the target, which was to be blown up with a bomb.
Bomb threat to the High Court
The Punjab and Haryana High Court received a bomb threat on Thursday, May 22, 2025. This threat was sent by mail at 11:30 am. Immediately after this, the court rooms were evacuated. At the same time, the lawyers also came out of the chamber. The checking continued till two o’clock. But the police did not find anything in it. However, the police say that our investigation is going on.
