The cancellation of the decision to give 10 marks on socio-economic basis in recruitments for government jobs in Haryana has created a stir in the government. The Punjab and Haryana High Court has ordered to issue a new merit list.
Sources say that if the already selected candidates are left out in the new merit list, then the government can adjust them by creating new posts. It is being told that the court’s decision will affect 4 recruitments of about 4 thousand posts, because the petition was filed regarding these.
In fact, Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) has recruited for more than 25 thousand posts under the policy of socio-economic basis marks. If sources are to be believed, out of these recruitments, about 15 thousand selected candidates are such, whose marks will not be out of merit even if they are removed.
If we look at the court’s order, no one will lose their job at the moment. Till the time they are not permanently adjusted on the vacant posts, they will have to be kept on ad hoc. However, this may make the wait of other youth for the job longer.
How will the recruitments be affected by the decision
Punjab and Haryana High Court advocate Hemant Kumar says that the court has said in its orders that in the recruitments for which the petition has been filed, the government should remove the marks of socio-economic basis and issue the merit list of the recruitments afresh. Those who are out of this merit list of the already selected should be kept on ad hoc basis until they can be adjusted to the vacant posts.
He said that when the new merit list is made, the seniority list will be made according to the merit. The new youth coming in the merit will also get seniority from the beginning of the recruitment. The selected candidates who will be left out of the new merit list, their appointment will be considered until they are adjusted to the vacant posts. In such a situation, the youth who were deprived of selection in the rest of the recruitments made with the marks of socio-economic basis based on the decision of these recruitments can also go to the court.
The actual figure of those affected by the decision is being prepared
After the decision of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, the resentment among the youth regarding the policy may increase. In such a situation, the state government is brainstorming about it. Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini had a conversation with the Advocate General on Thursday itself regarding this. Along with this, a full report was also sought.
The Chief Minister has also discussed with the Chairman of HSSC. HSSC is preparing the details of the employees, so that it can be known how many employees of which department can be affected by this decision.
CM said – will study the decision and start the next process
CM Naib Singh Saini said about the decision of the High Court on the criteria set on socio-economic basis in government jobs, ‘I welcome whatever decision has come from the Hon’ble Court.’
He took a dig at the opposition, especially the Congress leaders, and said that today the promising children of poor families are getting jobs on the basis of hard work. Regarding jobs, Congress leaders should remember their rule and how the interests of the youth were hurt at that time.
10 thousand government employees who got bonus marks on socio-economic basis in Haryana will lose their jobs. Punjab and Haryana High Court has asked to cancel the results of all the recruitments done after 2019. After which orders have been given to prepare their merit afresh.
