‘The whole family was very happy’, Praveen’s nephew raises questions; New twist in the suicide case!

Date:

Late Monday night, the bodies of seven members of a family were found in a car in Sector 27 of Panchkula. It is being said that they committed suicide due to repeated losses in business and pressure from financiers. The deceased include businessman Praveen Mittal (42), his wife Reena (38), mother Vimla (71), father Deshraj (72), twin daughters Dhruvika and Dalisha (11) and son Hardik (14).

According to the initial investigation, Praveen Mittal, originally from Barwala in Hisar, had shifted his family to Panchkula in 2007-08. Here he set up a scrap factory by taking a loan from a bank, but he incurred a loss of crores of rupees. After the bank went bankrupt, Praveen took a loan from financiers in Dehradun and started a tour and travel business, but that too did not work. Under pressure from financiers, he left Dehradun 25 days ago and started living in a rented house in Saketri, Panchkula. But, he was not left alone by the creditors. They started pressuring him to return the money. Threatened and intimidated the family. Threatened to kill the entire family. Fed up with this, the entire family committed suicide by consuming poison together.

Along with the police, Praveen Mittal’s father-in-law

Rakesh Gupta said that Praveen was upset due to a debt of crores. There was also pressure from the financiers, so he committed suicide. The police have found two suicide notes from the spot. The police have sent the suicide notes to the forensic lab for handwriting examination. The police are also investigating the phone calls that were being made to Praveen Mittal by the financiers.

Nephew raised the question, everything was fine till 10 days ago

Praveen’s nephew Ankit Mittal said that in 2007, uncle had a bank loan, but then he did not take such a decision. Now the question of suicide due to debt does not arise. After this, the police is investigating both the angles of murder and suicide. Ankit told that on April 30, uncle came to Delhi with the whole family to attend brother’s wedding. The whole family was very happy. Uncle also danced. I had talked to uncle 10 days ago also. Looking at him, it did not seem that he could take such a big step.

The family had left saying that they were going out for three days

Praveen Mittal and his family left the house at around 9.30 am on Monday. Police is investigating where the family stayed from morning to evening. The forensic team of police searched their house in Sektari. House owner Manish told that Praveen called in the morning. He told that they were going for a trip for three days. On Tuesday morning, information was received about the family committing suicide by consuming poison. The family was very decent.

It was mentioned in the suicide note – Aunt’s son will perform the last rites

Ankit told that he received a call from the police on Monday night. He reached Panchkula at 10 am on Tuesday. The police had told him that in the suicide note Praveen has written that after the death of all the members of my family, the last rites will be performed by his aunt’s son Sandeep Agarwal.

Two suicide notes have been found. One has been found on the dashboard of the car and the other inside the bag. The forensic team is examining the handwriting of both. Efforts are being made to find out who wrote the suicide notes. In the note, it has been written that Praveen Mittal’s financial condition is not good. According to the CCTV footage, the car was parked in an empty plot behind house 1204 of Sector-27 at around 6:40 pm on Monday evening. It has nothing to do with the story of Baba Bageshwar. -Amit Dahiya, Crime and Traffic, DCP, Panchkula Police.

At the same time, Praveen’s father-in-law Rakesh Gupta said, ‘My daughter Reena Mittal did not die, her husband Praveen poisoned her and killed her. In this way my daughter will be murdered and I will not be able to do anything. I had not even imagined this in my dreams.’ Saying this, Praveen’s father-in-law Rakesh Gupta burst into tears. He said that he always helped his son-in-law Praveen Mittal. Even after this, he betrayed him. He bought him a house. Gave him money to establish his business in Dehradun. After this, he was unable to run it properly and he poisoned and killed my daughter, my two granddaughters and one grandson.

He said that my wish is to cremate my daughter and not let anyone touch her body. Regarding this, Praveen Mittal insisted on cremating his daughter’s body separately. During this, there was a clash between the two parties. On this, relatives and family members intervened and calmed the matter. After this, police personnel from Chandimandir police station and other police stations reached the spot. Meanwhile, the post-mortem of the daughter’s body was done.

After the post-mortem, Reena’s father Rakesh Gupta took her body to Manimajra crematorium and cremated it separately. The deceased Praveen Mittal’s cousins and family members reached the spot with the bodies of other people. After this, their last rites were performed. Reena’s father Rakesh Gupta lives in Himshikha Colony, Pinjore.
