FIR filed against 17 people involved in JNV recruitment exam in Chandigarh: Case filed against 17 people 10 days ago, who is the mastermind?

10 days later, Sector-26 police station has registered an FIR against 17 people including 2 girls in the case of cheating through electronic devices during Navodaya Vidyalaya recruitment exam in Chandigarh. 10 students were cheating in Sector-26, Shri Guru Gobind Singh Collegiate Public School and 7 in Moti Ram Arya Senior Secondary Public School, Sector-27. They tried to cheat using ultra-modern gadgets like Bluetooth, camera, hearing aid and Wi-Fi device.

It may be noted that on 18 May 2025, the police had registered an FIR against a total of 17 people in 4 different police stations in the case of cheating in Navodaya Vidyalaya recruitment exam and arrested them, but till now the police has not disclosed who was the mastermind behind them and how much money the arrested accused had paid in advance.

These 17 accused were cheating

The 17 people named by the police include Neeraj Kumar, Deepak, Manjeet, Pradeep, Vikas, Rohit, Pankaj, Jatin, Mohit, Deepak Kumar, Ravi, Rahul, Harsh, Arman, besides two girls and another woman. The police have registered a case against all of them under several sections including cheating and attempt to cheat.

Investigation has revealed that the accused had hidden devices like Bluetooth device in the ear, camera in the button of the shirt, pocket Wi-Fi router and hearing aid. All these gadgets were being used to stay in touch with people sitting outside and get answers.

10 to 18 lakh rupees were given to the gang

Initial investigation by the police has revealed that the accused or their families had given 10 to 18 lakh rupees to the members of the cheating gang to help them pass the exam. In this recruitment exam of Navodaya Vidyalaya, applications were taken for a total of 1800 posts and many schools were made examination centers across Chandigarh.

Police station 39 registered a case against 12

On May 18, 2025, police station 39 registered a case against a total of 12 and said that the accused Rakhi, who runs her own institute in Haryana, had come to take the paper only to leak the paper. Her police remand will be taken, but right now the investigation of this case is in cold storage.
