Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is coming to Chandigarh on June 4. Rahul Gandhi will hold a meeting of Haryana Congress leaders here. Earlier his program was on June 1. A new date has been given by Rahul Gandhi’s office. In Haryana too, Rahul Gandhi is coming to hold a meeting on the issue of organization. The Congress organization has not been formed in the state for the last 11 years. Preparations have started for Rahul Gandhi’s visit. On Saturday, a team of Chandigarh Police also inspected the Haryana Congress headquarters located in Sector-9.
Invitations not sent to all MLAs
The leaders who have been invited to this meeting of Rahul Gandhi are being called directly by the party’s Haryana affairs in-charge BK Hariprasad. Congress has a total of 37 MLAs in the state. According to sources, invitations have not been sent to all the MLAs for the meeting yet. On the other hand, 21 leaders have been sent to Delhi by the Congress High Command as central observers for the selection of district presidents. The observers have not started their work yet. Before they start the selection process for the formation of the organization, Rahul Gandhi will hold a meeting with them so that they can be told about the guidelines regarding the formation of the organization. The state organization will be formed by the state president only after the selection of the district presidents. Finally, the block heads will be selected.
These leaders will attend Rahul Gandhi’s meeting
Apart from all the central observers, most of the senior leaders of Haryana Congress will be present in Rahul Gandhi’s meeting. Party state president Chaudhary Udaybhan, former Chief Minister Bhupendra Singh Hooda, National General Secretary and Sirsa MP Kumari Selja, National General Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Randeep Singh Surjewala, former Finance Minister Captain Ajay Singh Yadav, former Speaker Dr. Raghubir Singh Kadian, Rohtak MP Deepender Singh Hooda, Hisar MP Jaiprakash ‘JP’, Ambala MP Varun Chaudhary and Sonipat MP Satpal Brahmachari along with many other stalwarts will be present in the meeting. It is being told that Rahul Gandhi wants to hold the meeting at the State Congress Committee headquarters in Sector-9, Chandigarh. Whether the meeting will be held here or not will be decided only after investigation and inspection of the spot by the security agencies. In such a situation, other options are also being explored simultaneously. Some leaders have suggested a meeting at Himachal Bhawan in Chandigarh. This is also being considered.
