In Haryana, the departments were divided in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) on Monday. In this, the workload of CM Naib Saini’s Chief Principal Secretary Rajesh Khullar has been reduced somewhat. Along with this, the Chief Minister’s OSD Raj Nehru has also entered the CMO. Now there will be 2 OSDs in the CMO.
Retired IAS Rajesh Khullar has been in the CMO for many years and he is called the most powerful bureaucrat of the state. He has been working as the Chief Principal Secretary to the CM since the time of former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. Khullar remained on this post even after Naib Saini took over the Chief Minister’s chair.
Till now Khullar was looking after 21 departments in the CMO. In the division of departments done on June 2, he will have 16 departments. The charge of five departments has been given to other officers.

These include Justice Administration, AYUSH, Energy, Excise and Taxation, Finance, Institutional Finance and Credit Control and Planning, General Administration, Personnel and Training, Hospitality and Vigilance, Health, Home, Industry and Commerce, Information, Public Relations, Languages and Culture, Irrigation and Water Resources, Medical Education and Research, Parliamentary Affairs, Law and Legislative. Apart from these, Raj Bhavan matters, Revenue and Disaster Management, Town and Country Planning and Urban Estate, complete charge of the Chief Minister’s Office, Chief Minister’s Office, all matters related to legislative work, including legislative proposals brought before the Council of Ministers and issuance of ordinances.
Raj Nehru was also powerful in the Khattar government
Now the number of OSDs of the Chief Minister in CMO has also increased from one to two. Raj Nehru has made a new entry. Till now, Haryana Civil Service (HCS) officer Vivek Kalia had the charge of OSD in CMO. Now as OSD, Raj Nehru will look after 3 departments in CMO, namely Future Department, Higher Education, Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship. Raj Nehru is considered close to former CM Manohar Lal Khattar. Dr. Nehru has been the founding Vice Chancellor of the country’s first government skill university. In 2016, he was appointed Vice Chancellor of Shri Vishwakarma Skill University. He has long experience in the skill sector, before this he has been the Mission Director of Skill Development Corporation. Now he has been given departments related to youth.
IAS Arun has 11 departments including Civil Aviation
According to the new list released while dividing the departments on Monday, IAS Arun Kumar will have 11 departments. IAS Arun Kumar Gupta will look after civil aviation, corporation, crid, environment, forest and wildlife, food, civil supply, consumer affairs, jail, mining, public work, social justice, empowerment, works related to Scheduled Caste, Backward Class Welfare, Transport, Urban Local Bodies and implementation of Chief Minister’s announcements.
Saket Kumar will look after agriculture and farmers, animal husbandry
IAS Saket Kumar will look after 9 departments. These include agriculture and farmers welfare, animal husbandry, dairy, panchayati development and elections, fisheries, foreign affairs, housing for all, Sainik Welfare Board and Women and Child Development Board. Similarly, IAS Yashpal will have 8 departments. These include agriculture, archeology and tourism, labor, printing, stationery, public health engineering, school education, sports, Saraswati Heritage Board.
Vivek Kalia will look after CM window and public dialogue
Apart from these, HCS Vivek Kalia will look after 2 departments, HCS Sudhanshu Gautam will look after 6 departments and HCS Rakesh Sandhu will look after 2 departments. HCS Vivek Kalia will look after CM window and public dialogue. Apart from this, Sudhanshu Gautam will handle the work related to government housing allotment, CM announcement, CM relief fund, HRDF, online transfer policy and Waqf board. Rakesh Sandhu will look after the work related to CM window and grievances.
