Punjab Police has arrested YouTuber Jasbir Singh on charges of spying for Pakistan. Jasbir Singh is a resident of Mahalan village in Rupnagar and has more than 10 lakh subscribers on his YouTube channel ‘Jaan Mahal’. He has visited Pakistan 3 times.
Police investigation has revealed that he was in contact with ISI agent Hasan Ali alias Jatt Randhawa. He was also in contact with YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra arrested from Haryana and Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, an officer expelled from the Pakistani High Commission. A case has been registered against Jasbir Singh by the State Special Operations Cell (SSOC) in Mohali.

Met Pakistani Army officials: DGP Gaurav Yadav said that Jasbir Singh had attended the Pakistan National Day program organized in Delhi on the invitation of Danish. Here he met Pakistani Army officials and bloggers. He has visited Pakistan in the years 2020, 2021 and 2024.
Pakistani numbers found in phone: Police say that during investigation, many Pakistan based numbers and other data have been found in his electronic gadgets. He has also deleted some dates. His phone and laptop have been sent to the lab for forensic examination. After Jyoti was arrested, the police suspected Jasbir Singh.

Jasbir Singh has uploaded many videos related to Pakistan on his YouTube channel. These include a video of entering Pakistan from Attari border. In some videos, he has described the beauty of the streets of Lahore and Pakistan.

8 people have been arrested on suspicion of espionage
Punjab Police and intelligence agencies have arrested 8 people from Punjab in the last one month on suspicion of espionage. All these accused were in constant contact with Pakistani agents. Intelligence agencies and Punjab Police suspected them after continuous calls made to Pakistan.
April 29: Bathinda Police arrested a man named Sunil Kumar. Sunil worked as a cobbler in Bathinda Cantt area. Chat with a woman from Pakistan was recovered from his phone.
May 4: Two spies, Palak Sher Masih and Suraj Masih, were arrested from Amritsar. Both of them were sending information of the Indian Army to Pakistan. This action was taken with the help of intelligence agencies.
May 11: A woman, Ghazala Khatoon, and a man, Yamin Mohammad, were arrested from Malerkotla. They were in contact with Pakistani agencies. Ghazala Khatoon had gone to the Pakistani Embassy in Delhi to get a visa for Pakistan, where she came in contact with Pakistani agents.
May 13: Police in Punjab’s Bathinda arrested a suspected spy, Raqib, working in the Army Cantt. Raqib is a resident of Roorkee in Uttarakhand and worked as a tailor in the Army Cantt.
May 15: Gurdaspur police arrested Sukhpreet Singh (village Adian) and Karanbir Singh (Chandu Wala, district Gurdaspur). Both of them were sharing information related to “Operation Sindoor” with Pakistan. Three mobile phones and eight cartridges of 30 bore were recovered from them.
June 3: A man was arrested from Tarn Taran in Punjab on suspicion of spying for Pakistan. It is alleged that he was sending military information related to “Operation Sindoor” to Pakistani intelligence agency ISI. The accused has been identified as Gagandeep Singh alias of Mohalla Rodupur Gali, Nazar Singh Wali, Tarn Taran.
On June 3, a man was arrested from Tarn Taran in Punjab on suspicion of spying for Pakistan. It is alleged that he was sending military information related to Operation Sindoor to the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI.
