While dancing on the dance floor in Mohali at 1 o’clock on Wednesday night, the shoulders of Aditya Vij, owner of the night club The Skull, and a young man Siddharth Delu collided.
After an argument, the club owner took the young man outside and beat him. After this, he took out a pistol and shot him. The bullet hit Siddharth Delu’s lower abdomen. His friends who came with him admitted him to Sohana Hospital. Doctors have removed the bullet after the operation. He is now out of danger. On Thursday afternoon, the police arrested the accused Aditya Vij and his partner Tushar Kapoor. The police is investigating whether the club owner’s pistol is licensed or not.
DSP City-2 Harsimran Singh Bal said that a case has been registered against him under various sections. This incident was carried out in the night club The Skull in Bestech Square Mall of Sector-66 Phase-11.
Dance party is held for four days
The dance and night club The Skull runs on the fifth floor of Bestech Mall (Sector-66). This club remains closed for three days in a week. Dance parties are held here on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. According to DSP Bal, the club is allowed to run till 1 am, but this club owner has taken permission till 3 am. There was a dance party in the club on Wednesday as well.
Siddharth Delu from Rajasthan had come to the party with his six friends. The club owner, Siddharth and his friends had consumed alcohol. While dancing on the dance floor, Siddharth and club owner Aditya Vij collided with each other. Aditya first beat Siddharth after taking him out of the club. After this, he shot him. After the firing, there was chaos in the club. People informed the police control room about this.
How did they take the pistol despite the ban?
DC Mohali has recently issued strict instructions against going to palaces, pubs, clubs and wedding functions with weapons. At the same time, security guards in Bestek Mall strictly check every visitor. There is a metal detector installed here so that no sensitive item can be taken to the mall. Despite that, club owner Aditya was in the club with a pistol. Many discotheque owners in Mohali flout the rules and hold parties till late night.
Cases of serving Chandigarh liquor have also come to light. Apart from this, even a policeman has lost his life due to firing outside the clubs. One thing also came to light that the clubs run in the district. Most of the youth in them are not from Mohali or Chandigarh but from other districts of Punjab as well as Haryana and Himachal who fight after getting drunk. After this they leave from there.
Bullets have been fired in night clubs before also
On 23 May 2023, during a pool party at 1 am in a hotel (4-by Oyo) on Zirakpur-Ambala Highway, party organizer Simranjit Singh fired 6 rounds. One bullet had passed through the leg of Karna Chhabra who had come to the party. Zirakpur police had registered a case against eight people. Fake dollars were also blown away during this pool party.
Commando posted in CM Security has been killed
In 2019, a commando posted in CM Security was shot dead at around 2:45 am in the discotheque Working Street and Cafe located in Phase-11. Earlier, there was a fight between two groups in the party. 24-year-old deceased Sukhwinder Kumar was a resident of village Rudiwala Tarewala (Jalalabad) in Fazilka district. He joined the Punjab Police in 2016. In this case, SHO Jagdev Singh of Phase-11 police station was suspended by the then SSP Kuldeep Singh Chahal.
The Burj Club was sealed in Bestech Mall
In the year 2022, the Excise and Taxation Department raided the night club The Burj running in Bestech Mall in Phase-11 and recovered 80 boxes of illegal liquor. This club is right next to The Skull Club. The Burj Club was sealed after the raid. The excise team raided at 2 am. At that time, 300 to 350 people were dancing at the discotheque who were found violating the rules.
