Amritsar: Rising tensions and airspace closures in the Middle East have started impacting international flights operated by Indian carriers. The disruption was evident at Amritsar Airport on Tuesday, where SpiceJet’s Amritsar to Dubai flight SG-55 was cancelled.
The flight was scheduled to depart at 9:15 AM from Amritsar. SpiceJet issued a warning that other flights may also face delays, diversions, or cancellations due to the evolving security scenario in the region.
This air route holds significant importance for hundreds of Punjabi NRIs who frequently travel to Dubai for work or family reasons. The sudden cancellation has caused inconvenience to passengers.

In an official statement released on Monday, SpiceJet stated:
“Due to the closure of certain airspace in the Middle East, our international flights may be affected. We advise passengers to check the status of their flights on our official website or by contacting our helpline numbers.”
