Taking strict action against drug abuse, Punjab Police has arrested a smuggler with 509 grams of heroin. The accused is a resident of Punjab’s border village ‘Adia’ and used to handle the consignment of heroin coming from Pakistan. In this regard, DSP Dinanagar Rajinder Singh Minhas informed that ASI Bhupinder Singh posted at Dorangala police station, along with his police team, arrested the accused Sahajpreet Singh son Gurmeet Singh from Dana Mandi of Alinangal on the basis of suspicion.
When the police searched the plastic envelope present with the accused, 509 grams of heroin was recovered from it. After this, a case was registered against the accused under the NDPS Act and he was arrested. The police is now investigating from where this heroin was brought and to whom it was to be supplied further.
