According to the weather department’s forecast, there is a possibility of lightning and strong winds at a speed of 30-40 kmph in many parts of the state. Heavy rain has also been predicted in Punjab on 5, 6 August, and rain is also expected in some districts on 7 August. The weather is expected to remain bad especially in Mohali and Chandigarh. Moderate rain may occur in these areas. The effect of this weather change will also be seen in Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Rupnagar, Nawanshahr, Ludhiana, Sangrur and Mansa districts. The weather will remain cold in these areas and there is a possibility of light rain. The Meteorological Department has warned the people living in these districts to remain alert. Due to this intensity of weather, there is also a possibility of disruption in traffic and power supply.
