Akhand Path Sahib Bhog and Antim Ardas of Indian Army Jawan ALD Daljit Singh, who was martyred while serving the country in the recent accident in Ladakh, were held today at Gurdwara Shri Tahli Sahib in village Galhari. On this occasion, Punjab’s Defence Services, Welfare, Freedom Struggle and Horticulture Minister Mr. Mohinder Bhagat specially came to pay tribute. On this occasion, Chairman of Punjab Health Systems Corporation Mr. Raman Bahil, prominent leader of Dinanagar and senior leader of Aam Aadmi Party Mr. Shamsher Singh, District President Joban Randhawa and a large number of villagers were present. After the Bhog of Shri Akhand Path Sahib, the Raggi Singhs performed a soulful Kirtan.
Minister Mohinder Bhagat said that the whole country is proud of its brave son Shaheed Daljit Singh. Even in a difficult area like Ladakh, he gave excellent service in the defense of the country and was martyred during duty. He said that he has come on behalf of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to express condolences to the family in this hour of grief and the government stands with them in every way.The minister announced that the Punjab government will provide financial assistance of Rs 1 crore to the family of Shaheed Daljit Singh. Out of this, a cheque of Rs 6 lakh has been handed over to the family today and the remaining Rs 94 lakh will be given as soon as the paperwork is completed. The brother of the martyr will be given a government job, the government school in the village will be named after the martyr and a memorial gate will also be built at the entrance of the village.He said that the Punjab government is always committed to the welfare of the families of the martyrs, as these families are the invaluable heritage of the country and the society. On this occasion, the father of the martyr, Mr Gulzar Singh was also felicitated. Various religious and political personalities also paid emotional tributes to Shaheed Daljit Singh in the program.
