Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann launched a great war against drugs, made this big claim
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann claimed that Punjab will be completely drug free in the next 6 months because the government has waged a great war against drugs with full force. He said that we have decided to make Punjab drug free and for this the government is working with full heart and soul. The Chief Minister said today that it took 3 years for the Punjab government to launch a great war against drugs because the government wanted to enter the field with its preparations.
While talking to some channels today, the Chief Minister said that this government was studying how much collusion the police has with the drug smugglers and at the same time the government wanted to set up a de-addiction center. We did not want the government to start a war against drugs and after that the youth could not be treated.
He said that as soon as the government started the war against drugs, it first started the work of exchange at the police station level because for years the police personnel were sitting in the same police stations. He said that the Punjab government is now going to wash away the stigma on the forehead of the state that Punjab is known only by Udta Punjab. Now Punjab will be known as Educated Punjab. For the first time, 805 children of government schools have been selected in NEET, 446 children in JE, 44 children in Advanced JE. He said that we have got success in the matter of drugs but it may take time to end corruption, for which we are making every effort.
The Chief Minister said that now the Panchayats are passing resolutions daily and sending them to the government in which they claim that no drug peddler will be able to enter their villages. He said that Punjab is now in safe hands and Punjabis need not be afraid because we are children of farmers who have seen poverty. He said that now he is not a politician who does not know how much wealth he has.The Chief Minister, while referring to an Akali leader, said that he will not be given VIP treatment in jail. He said that his government has not done any work with a spirit of vengeance because whoever is involved in drugs, even if he is a politician of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party, will not be spared. The government is strictly following zero tolerance policy towards drugs.
He said that Congress leaders like Raja Warring advocated giving exemption to opium and other drugs because these drugs come to Punjab from their neighboring state. The Chief Minister said that we want to build a healthy Punjab, we do not want anyone to get addicted to opium or bhukki.
The Chief Minister said that in the next 10 years, he sees Punjab going very far. 10-15 players from Punjab must have reached medal level in Olympics and similarly scientists from Punjab will be selected for Nobel Prize. He said that it is a matter of pride for us that the captains of Indian cricket team, women’s cricket team, football and badminton teams are Punjabis. He said that as soon as drug addiction ends from Punjab, Punjabi youth will be seen performing brilliantly in international and national sports.
