Demand for election for the post of Mayor in Nagar Nigam Heritage: Congress councilor said- When by-elections can be held in wards, then why not for the post of Mayor

Date:

With the by-election to be held in Ward 63 in Jaipur Nagar Nigam Heritage, protest has started regarding the election for the post of Mayor. Congress councilors have demanded election for the post of acting mayor from the government. Along with this, they have also warned of agitation if this does not happen.

Congress councilor Dashrath Singh Shekhawat said- Ward 63 councilor Sushila Devi died recently in Nagar Nigam Heritage. After this, the State Election Commission is organizing a by-election on September 3, adopting the entire election process there. Where the general public will once again elect the councilor through vote. Whereas the acting mayor has already served more than that in Jaipur Nagar Nigam Heritage. But the government and administration are not paying attention to this.

The process of mayor election is only 7 days

Dashrath Singh Shekhawat said- The process of mayor election is simpler than the election of councilor. Which is only 7 days. In this, only 100 councillors elected by the public will choose their representative. But the Bharatiya Janata Party does not want to do this. Because in reality they do not have the majority.

The government is giving extension to the acting mayor in an unconstitutional manner

Shekhawat said – Going against the rules, the government is continuously giving extension to the acting mayor in an unconstitutional manner. Due to which corruption is spreading in the Municipal Corporation. The officials are not listening to not only the Congress but also the BJP councillors and chairman. Therefore, the Congress party demands election for the post of mayor in the Municipal Corporation Heritage. Because elections are very important for a healthy democracy. In such a situation, if the Rajasthan government does not conduct elections for the post of mayor in time, then we will launch a big movement.

He said – The condition of the wards in Heritage Corporation has completely deteriorated. The cleanliness system of the city is deteriorating. Even the contracts for garden maintenance have not been done. Stray animals are creating terror in the city. The roll lights of the main routes of the city along with the inner colonies remain off. But there is no one to pay attention to these problems. Therefore, we want that a new mayor should be elected through the votes of the councillors. Who can solve the problems of the councillors along with the general public quickly.
