Water is being continuously released into the Beas river from the Paug dam, due to which the water is continuously rising in the lower areas of the Beas river of Sri Hargobindpur Sahib, due to which the people of the villages situated on the banks of the river have started migrating to safer places. The holy form of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji was taken to a safe place from the Gurudwara of village Fatta.
Talking to journalists on this occasion, Granthi Gurmeet Singh, Dharminder Singh, Harjeet Singh, Nishan Singh said that the water level had increased for some time in 2023 also, due to which we are already moving to a safe place. It is noteworthy that about 100-200 acres of crops have been submerged in water along the river. People have demanded that a flood dam be built on the banks of the Beas river so that there is no economic loss to crops and houses every year.
