Applicants’ problems are increasing continuously in the Automated Driving Test Center operated under the Regional Transport Office (RTO). Applicants were already struggling with the shortage of staff, frequent server failure and technical problems in the cameras, and now the attitude of the officers has made the problem more serious.
Today, during the Road Safety Committee meeting chaired by the Deputy Commissioner in the District Administrative Complex, A.R.T.O. Vishal Goyal also took the employees posted in the test center with him. Due to this, all the work of the applicants who came with online appointment was left to the responsibility of only one female employee. As a result, there was a huge delay in document verification, photo clicking and other formalities. The staff was busy in the meeting for about four hours, due to which the applicants who came to the center had to stand in long queues and wait for their turn.
Harish Kumar, Gautam Sareen, Jaswinder Singh and others who had come to get their licenses expressed their displeasure over this situation and said that the department should handle meetings and office work differently. If the officers have to attend meetings, the work of the center should not come to a halt. They said that already time is wasted due to server down and cameras not working, and on top of that, applicants have to face double difficulties due to the absence of staff.
According to the information, applicants have to face problems due to lack of staff in the center even on normal days. People say that the administration should ensure the availability of permanent staff in the driving test center. Also, the server and camera system should be upgraded to remove technical flaws. If these problems are not resolved on time, the anger of the applicants who have come to get their licenses may increase further.
