A woman’s mysterious disappearance in a crowded market in Jalandhar Cantt has created a stir. The woman had come to shop with her daughter, but disappeared within a short time. The daughter alleged that her mother was forcibly kidnapped by some youths in a white car, while the matter seems completely complicated in the police investigation. The incident is being reported from Cantt market, where 35-year-old woman Rosie had come for shopping with her daughter. According to the daughter, both of them had bought a pizza together, after which the mother left her saying that she was going to buy vegetables. The daughter was waiting there when she saw – some youths came in a white car, wrapped a cloth on the mother’s mouth and dragged her into the car and fled towards Church Road. On the girl’s scream, people gathered and the police was informed.
On receiving the information, the in-charge of Cantt police station and DSP reached the spot and immediately started investigation. The shopkeepers nearby were questioned, but no one confirmed the incident of forcibly taking the woman away. The shopkeepers said that if something like this had happened in the market, then there would have been a lot of noise. Meanwhile, during the investigation, when the police searched the CCTV footage of the area, the situation became more complicated. In one footage, the woman herself is seen sitting alone in an e-rickshaw near a food shop and going towards Church Road. In such a situation, the police is trying to understand whether the woman deliberately left her daughter there, or there is some other reason.
At present, the police have contacted the other relatives of the woman by taking their numbers from the daughter and the family has been called to the police station for questioning. Till late night, no clue of the woman was found. The police station in-charge says that the truth of the case will be revealed soon and all possibilities are being investigated.
