The fun is here! Big news for Punjab’s schools

Date:

The central government has taken a major step towards modernizing the infrastructure of Punjab’s schools by releasing the first installment under the PM Shri School Scheme. Under this scheme, ₹3125.54 lakh has been allocated for the renovation of 331 schools in the state. A total of ₹5801.79 lakh has been approved for Punjab, which will be utilized systematically in the future.

BJP State Vice President and former MLA Arvind Khanna said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to strengthening Punjab’s education system, and this amount has been released on time as part of this commitment. He alleged that the Punjab government often does not disclose the funds received from the central government to the public and often diverts them for other purposes. Khanna said that providing better education, modern laboratories, and smart classrooms to Punjab’s school students is the central government’s priority. Now, it is the state government’s responsibility to ensure that these funds are properly utilized in schools in a timely manner so that thousands of children can directly benefit.

Arvind Khanna stated that the Director General of School Education, Punjab, through his letter PM SHRI/SHIV.V/2025-26/259191, has informed all District Education Officers of Punjab that funds amounting to ₹3125.54 lakh have been released as the first installment of the total ₹5801.79 lakh approved by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, for the year 2025-26 for the construction of various approved civil works under the PM SHRI Scheme. Khanna stated that Prime Minister Modi is fully committed to Punjab and the Central Government has released the grant on time as per its commitment. The BJP President stated that it is the responsibility of the Punjab Government to spend this money on timely civil works in schools. This will benefit thousands of students in Punjab.
