Rupinder Kaur Pandher, a 72-year-old American citizen, was murdered in a house in Kilaraipur village, Ludhiana district. The initial investigation into the murder has revealed several sensational and shocking revelations. The main accused, Sukhjeet Singh Sonu, has confessed to killing Rupinder Kaur on the night of July 12th and 13th.
He then repeatedly poured diesel on the body and set it on fire, intending to destroy it. When the body did not burn completely, he poured water on it to cool the partially burned parts and planned to throw them into a drain near Lahare village before dawn. He used bags for this purpose and threw the body parts into the drain in the early hours of July 13th. Some of these parts, including bones, were recovered by the police in the presence of ACP Harjinder Singh Gill. Additionally, a major portion of the contract money promised by Charanjit Singh Grewal, approximately ₹3.5 million, was transferred from Rupinder Kaur Pandher’s account to the accounts of the accused and her brother. NRI Rupinder Kaur had also given Sukhjeet Singh power of attorney over her Ludhiana property.
Murder order received from England
Police have also named Charanjit Singh Channi, a resident of England, in this case. Sonu reportedly confessed to killing Rupinder Kaur at Charanjit Singh’s behest. According to police, Rupinder Kaur had a relationship with Charanjit Singh. When she returned to India, she lived with Sonu and gave him power of attorney to handle her cases. Sonu, driven by greed and at Channi’s behest, took Rupinder Kaur’s life.
