A suspicious bag found at Ajay Bag Enterprises (near Harbans Tower) in Sunder Nagar created panic in the area. Shop owner Ajay Kumar explained that about 4-5 days ago, an unknown customer came to his shop. The customer liked a bag in the shop, said it was worth around ₹6,000 and had deposited ₹500 in advance. The customer said he would be back in half an hour—but never returned.
According to the shop owner, when the bag was opened a few days later, packets filled with petrol, matchboxes/lighter boxes, and some watches were found inside. The shop owner and nearby residents perceived the bag as “like a time bomb,” and they immediately informed the police. Locals were alarmed, and a large crowd gathered at the scene.
Police Action:
A team from the Sunder Nagar police station quickly arrived at the scene and cordoned off and sealed the entire area. The forensic and explosives departments have been called in to examine the bag and the items found. The station officer said in an unofficial statement that the forensic report has not yet arrived, and it would be premature to draw any conclusions – no injuries have been reported at this time. He appealed to citizens to remain calm and refrain from spreading rumors.
