Strict action has been taken against the district’s sub-inspector. The SHO of Tibba police station has been suspended on the orders of Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma. Sub-Inspector Jaspal Singh, SHO of Tibba police station, has been suspended for not taking women’s complaints seriously and delaying the registration of FIRs. Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma took action and ordered a departmental inquiry, sending him to the police lines.
According to reports, a woman named Dolly was recently attacked by her husband, leaving her seriously injured. Following the incident, the victim went to Tibba police station to file a complaint and demanded immediate action, but the SHO delayed. When the matter came to the Commissioner’s attention, he immediately took strict action and removed the officer from his post.
CP East Sumit Sood stated that while he received information about the suspension late, it has been confirmed that a new SHO has been appointed at Tibba police station. He said that instructions have been given to record the victim’s statement and file an FIR immediately. Commissioner Sharma clarified that the Ludhiana Police will not tolerate negligence by any station house officer. He said, “It is our responsibility to ensure that every complainant receives timely justice. Any delay in cases involving women is unacceptable.”
