Incidents of snatching are increasing in the city. Two bike-riding youths snatched a woman’s mobile phone and ₹8,000 in cash on the Link Road near Nakodar Road. Surinder Kaur, a resident of Basti Sheikh, said she works as a cook behind DMC Hospital. On Saturday, while returning from work, she had ₹8,000 of her salary, which she had stored on her mobile phone. As she was walking home, two bike-borne youths approached her at high speed, snatched her mobile phone, and fled.
Police at Station Number Four have registered a case based on the woman’s complaint and are investigating CCTV footage from nearby locations. Police are working to arrest the accused soon. The victim has appealed to the police to return her mobile phone and money safely.
