Officials from the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) Ludhiana Regional Office appealed, stating that it is mandatory for pensioners to submit their life certificates every year. They explained that failing to submit a life certificate automatically stops the pensioner’s pension. Furthermore, they pointed out that even after a pensioner’s death, family members often fail to notify the relevant EPFO office in a timely manner, causing difficulties and delays for widows and widowers in receiving their pensions.
Officials informed that pensioners can now upload their life certificates digitally from their mobile phones using Aadhaar face recognition technology. For this, pensioners can download the Aadhaar Face RD app from the Google Play Store and the Jeevan Pramaan Face application from Jeevan Pramaan.gov.in. The life certificate can now be submitted at any time of the year and is valid for one year after submission. The officials appealed to all pensioners who have not yet submitted their life certificate to do so immediately. They also appealed to the pensioner’s family to immediately inform the concerned EPFO office if the pensioner has died. Pensioners can come to the office daily during working hours for the life certificate registration work.
