In compliance with the orders of the Hon’ble Supreme Court and the National Green Tribunal, Gurpreet Singh Thind, Additional District Magistrate, Sri Muktsar Sahib, exercising the powers conferred under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Defence Code, 2023, has fixed the timings for bursting crackers on Diwali, Gurpurab, Christmas and New Year’s Day within the district limits.
According to the orders, crackers can be burst from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm on Diwali, October 20, 2025. On Gurpurab, November 5, 2025, crackers can be burst from 4:00 am to 5:00 am and from 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm. According to the orders, the timing for bursting crackers on Christmas Day, December 25-26, 2025, has been fixed from 11:55 pm to 12:30 am (midnight).
Similarly, the timings for bursting firecrackers on December 31, 2025 (the end of the year) and January 1, 2025 (the beginning of the new year) have been set from 11:55 pm to 12:30 am. As per the orders of the Additional District Magistrate, bursting firecrackers at any time other than the stipulated time will be prohibited. Furthermore, the sale of firecrackers in the open without permanent/temporary licenses issued by the Office of the District Magistrate has also been prohibited in District Sri Muktsar Sahib, and strict action will be taken against violators.
