The court of Additional Sessions Judge Rajni Chokra, in a case of attempted murder and attempted murder, acquitted Manu Kapoor, son of Ramesh Kapoor, Sunny Chauhan, son of Ajay Chauhan, Nannu Kapoor, son of Ramesh Kapoor, Dayal Sharma, son of Subhash Chandra, Rakesh Kapoor, son of Hariom Kapoor, Shivam Arora, son of Krishan Lal, all residents of Khingra Gate Dhan Mohalla, and Darshan Kapoor, son of Shankar Das, resident of Chhota Ali Mohalla, Jalandhar, after hearing arguments from advocate Navtej Singh Minhas and advocate VK Sarin.
On June 22, 2017, the police of Police Station Division Number 3 registered a case in this matter based on the statement of complainant Navneesh Sehgal, resident of Khingra Gate, Dhan Mohalla. He stated that he and his brother Harish Sehgal were returning home after closing their clothing store. On the way, he and his brother stopped their Activa scooter near a milk shop and went to buy milk. When he came out, he saw the accused attacking his brother with sharp weapons.
When he tried to stop them, they attacked him as well, seriously injuring both brothers. When we shouted, the accused fled with the sharp weapons. Later, the police registered a case against the seven men under sections 323, 324, 325, 307, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.
