involved in the Sagar murder case, may face further difficulties. Jhajjar police will bring him on a production warrant next week in connection with the case of supplying weapons. This has been confirmed by DCP Crime Amit Dahiya.
It may be recalled that in September, Vishal alias Chotiwala Birhor from Chhuchhakwas was apprehended under suspicious circumstances. An Italian-made pistol and half a dozen live cartridges were recovered from him. During police remand, he confessed to supplying weapons to wrestler Sushil Kumar. The accused also stated that he had played at the national level in the Under-19 category. He met Sushil Kumar at Chhatrasal Stadium in 2014. He belongs to the Sehrawat gotra (clan), and Sushil’s wife also belongs to the Sehrawat gotra. Because of this, he frequently visited Sushil’s village, Baprola. Sushil Kumar, who was in judicial custody in jail in connection with the Sagar murder case, was granted bail by the Delhi High Court on March 4. However, the Supreme Court canceled Sushil’s bail on August 13.
The accused stated that in May, when Sushil was produced in the Delhi Rohini Court, outside the court, he pointed towards a car and instructed him to take a pistol and 20 cartridges from it, mentioning his name. After bringing the weapons and ammunition, he returned to his village. He said that he fired more than a dozen bullets into the air. He kept the remaining bullets and the pistol with him.
Jhajjar police had earlier applied for a production warrant to bring Sushil Kumar in connection with this case. Now, the police will bring wrestler Sushil on a production warrant next week.
