The Amritsar-Kolkata Akal Takht Express (train number 12317-12318), which runs between Kolkata and Amritsar (up and down), will now run again on December 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th. This train will run once a week. Passengers traveling on this route have breathed a sigh of relief after this order from the railway authorities.
It should be noted that the railway had earlier canceled this train to prevent rail accidents caused by fog and mist during the winter season. The railway’s decision to resume the service, considering the difficulties faced by passengers, has been widely appreciated, and passengers are very happy about the train’s resumption.
According to the information, train number 12317 (Kolkata-Amritsar Akal Takht Express), running from Kolkata Railway Station to Amritsar Railway Station, will now run again as per its scheduled time on January 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th, 2026, and in the following month on February 1st, 8th, 15th, and 22nd, 2026.
Similarly, train number 12318 (Amritsar-Kolkata Akal Takht Express), running from Amritsar Railway Station to Kolkata Railway Station, will depart as per its previous schedule on December 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th, 2025. This train will also run on this route in January on the 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th, 2026, and in February on the 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th, 2026. It is worth noting that earlier, the railway management had cancelled these trains operating on these dates due to fog, but now, keeping in mind the continuous demands and convenience of the concerned passengers, their operation has been restored.
