On Thursday afternoon, a horrific road accident near Shahpur village on the Samana-Patran road resulted in the death of a young man driving a car and a female relative, while two other women in the car sustained serious injuries.
Mavikalan Police In-charge Hardeep Singh Virk, along with his team, reached the accident site and took the deceased and injured to the Civil Hospital in Samana. The deceased have been identified as Abhishek Goyal (35) and Praveen Verma (56), while the injured are Shashi Bala, wife of Rajpal, a resident of Patiala, and Anju, a resident of Nabha. After receiving first aid, the injured were referred to Patiala, while the bodies of the deceased were placed in the hospital’s mortuary.
Investigating officer Hardeep Singh Virk stated that the people in the car were returning after attending a religious ceremony for a relative in Tohana (Haryana) when their car went out of control near Shahpur village and crashed into a tree on the roadside. The accident was so severe that the driver, Abhishek Goyal, and the female relative sitting in the front seat died on the spot. The police have informed the families of the deceased and injured. Further action will be taken after their arrival.
