Major Action Before Tarn Taran By-election! Three Police Officers Transferred
Acting on the instructions of the Punjab State Election Commission, two DSPs and one Station House Officer (SHO) deployed in the Tarn Taran assembly constituency have been transferred. Following orders issued on Thursday, these police officers have been sent to the Chandigarh headquarters. It is being reported that this transfer was made after a complaint was filed with the Election Commission by the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal).
According to sources, in view of the upcoming by-election in the Tarn Taran assembly constituency, where senior leaders and party presidents of various political parties are engaged in election campaigning, Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) president Sukhbir Singh Badal had filed a complaint with the Punjab State Election Commission. The complaint stated that DSP (D) Sukhbir Singh, DSP Sub-division Tarn Taran Jagjit Singh, and Station House Officer of Jhabbal police station, Sub-Inspector Gurdeep Singh, have been stationed in this assembly constituency for a long time and should therefore be transferred. Acting promptly on this complaint, the Punjab State Election Commission issued orders to DGP Gaurav Yadav to immediately transfer these officers. Following this, DGP Gaurav Yadav transferred all three police officers on Thursday evening and posted them at the Chandigarh headquarters.
It is noteworthy that the Tarn Taran assembly seat is considered the “hottest seat” in the upcoming by-election. Therefore, the Election Commission has issued strict guidelines and made arrangements to ensure a peaceful and fair election.
