Liquor Shops to Remain Closed for 4 Days in Punjab, Note Down the Dates
The administration in Punjab has taken a major decision due to the by-election in the Tarn Taran assembly constituency. The Excise Commissioner of Punjab has issued an order directing that all liquor shops in the Tarn Taran assembly constituency and areas within a three-kilometer radius around it will remain closed from 6 PM on November 9th to 6 PM on November 11th. Additionally, a dry day will also be observed in these areas within a three-kilometer radius on November 14th, the day of counting of votes.
District Election Officer Rahul (IAS) stated that this step has been taken to ensure a peaceful and fair election process. He said that this order has been issued unilaterally, keeping the general public in mind, to maintain law and order during the by-election. Thus, the sale of liquor will be completely prohibited for a total of four days in Tarn Taran and surrounding areas.
