Two players from the Indian women’s cricket World Cup team, Amanjot Kaur and Harleen Kaur Deol, arrived at Chandigarh Airport today, where they received a grand welcome. The Punjab government honored both champion daughters at the Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh International Airport. The Indian women’s team has made history. I thank the Punjab government for this wonderful welcome. Everyone should work hard for their dreams; God shows us dreams and also helps us fulfill them.” Harleen’s family said that today is a moment of pride for all of Punjab. They said that everyone is very happy with the honor bestowed upon the daughters by the government. Decorated tractors and vehicles with posters bearing their names were arranged for the champions. From the airport, both players left for a victory parade in Chandigarh. It is worth noting that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had also personally congratulated the players via video call after the World Cup win and appreciated the hard work of the entire team. The Punjab Cricket Association will soon honor captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Amanjot Kaur, and fielding coach Munish Bali. Amanjot and Harleen have been announced a cash prize of Rs 11 lakh each, and coach Munish Bali will receive Rs 5 lakh.
