Significant news has emerged regarding the suspension of government buses in Punjab. In fact, the PUNBUS, Punjab Roadways, and PRTC Roadways Contract Workers Union have decided to suspend bus services from Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning. This could cause inconvenience to women and other passengers who travel free on buses.
The union has clearly stated that if their demands are not met at the meeting on November 12th, bus services will be halted across the state from Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning. The union says that if their pending demands are not met soon, they will be forced to launch a large-scale agitation.
Union state presidents Rashion Singh and Jagtar Singh stated that despite repeated assurances, the Punjab government has yet to take any concrete steps to address their demands. They say the government promised to regularize temporary employees during the elections, but the files have not yet been finalized. They have warned that if the government does not accept their demands, they will be forced to go on an indefinite strike.
