UIDAI has launched a new digital facility to update your mobile number in your Aadhaar card. Now you can add a new mobile number from the comfort of your home. There’s no need to visit a center or provide any documents. This facility will be especially helpful for people living in villages, remote areas, and the elderly.
How will your number be updated?
The entire process is very simple and takes just a few minutes:
First, download the Aadhaar app. Enter your Aadhaar number and new mobile number.
An OTP will be sent to your old or new number.
Verify your identity by performing face authentication using your smartphone’s camera.
That’s it! Your mobile number will be updated in Aadhaar.
Aadhaar is the country’s largest digital ID system, with data on over 1.3 billion people linked to it. Mobile number is very important in Aadhaar, because it is used for bank OTP, government subsidy, income tax verification and digital services (like DigiLocker).
