The wife said, “I pleaded with folded hands, but they killed my husband.” The entire area is in fear after the incident in broad daylight.

Date:

In village Bhullar on the Tarn Taran-Khadoor Sahib road, a grocery merchant was shot dead inside his shop, and then the robbers fled with ₹700 in cash from his bag. Meanwhile, while people are exposing the police’s claims of security arrangements following the announcement of the Zila Parishad elections, the police have formed separate teams to investigate the case, suspecting it to be a case of murder due to rivalry and robbery.

The incident, carried out in about a minute, has spread panic among the merchants. Meanwhile, Gursimran Singh, the son who lost his father, has expressed anger against the government’s daily tall claims about security, while the elderly grandparents and mother have described the robbers’ actions as beyond measure. The mourning wife said, “I’ve lost everything, what will I do now?” I pleaded with folded hands, but they killed my husband. Meanwhile, Bota said, “The robbers have taken my father’s shadow from me. What harm did we do to anyone?” Around 1 p.m., when Daljit Singh, son of Khajan Singh, a grocery businessman in village Bhullar on the Tarn Taran-Khadoor Sahib Road, was waiting for customers in his shop as usual, two masked robbers on a Splendor motorcycle suddenly parked the motorcycle on the roadside, and one of them entered.

The son and his wife pleaded with the robbers, but they showed no mercy.

According to sources, the shop owner became alert after seeing the robber’s behavior and confronted him with a pistol. Fearing capture, the robber began firing indiscriminately at him, hitting Daljit Singh in the chest and heart with three bullets. He fell to the ground inside the shop. Hearing this noise, Daljit Singh’s son and his wife, Sarbjit Kaur, were seen pleading with the robbers from the house behind the shop. Meanwhile, another robber, waiting outside on a motorcycle, entered the shop, took some money from the cash box, and fled the scene. During the entire incident, which lasted about a minute, Daljit Singh’s wife was seen holding her injured husband in her lap and pleading with him, but the robbers showed no mercy. In this terrifying atmosphere, the robbers neither felt pity for the bleeding from the bullets on the shopkeeper’s chest, nor did they notice the mother and son’s tearful pleas. The two robbers, who had demonstrated their ruthlessness, easily escaped the scene, brandishing their pistols in the air.

The son asked, “Where are the government’s claims of security? I’m asking for a job.” Gursimran Singh, the deceased Daljit Singh’s only 19-year-old son, told Punjab Kesari that due to his family’s middle-class background, he had been planning to go abroad and had begun preparations after graduating from 12th grade. But today, his father’s shadow has been lifted from his head forever. “I know that everyone is coming to us today and giving us courage, but later I will have to live my entire life alone without my father’s shadow,” Gursimran Singh said, tearfully. Expressing anger at Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, he asked, “Where are the grand claims of security you’re making on stage and through speakers today?” Gursimran Singh said that to improve his family’s circumstances, he dreamed of going abroad and making the lives of his elderly grandparents and parents happier. He never knew that robbers would shatter his dreams. He has requested a government job from Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann so that he can support his family. He said that the entire burden of his elderly grandmother, Kashmir Kaur, grandfather Khajan Singh, mother Sarabjit Kaur, and widowed aunt Rajwant Kaur, who live with him at home, has fallen on him. The robbers showed no mercy to his father, while his mother and he himself pleaded with them. When about half a dozen shopkeepers at the bus stop tried to chase the robbers as they fled, they also fired two rounds at neighboring shopkeepers Shamsher Singh, Sarabjit Singh, and Hawar Singh, after which the robbers fled towards Tarn Taran.

Police security arrangements and checkpoints exposed
Meanwhile, the security arrangements and checkpoints set up by the police across the district for the Zila Parishad elections are being exposed. Had the police set up a checkpoint on this main road, the robbers might have been caught. While this incident has demoralized shopkeepers, people are strongly condemning the murder and criticizing the government.

The robbers would have taken everything, but not Daljit: Elderly grandmother and aunt
Elderly grandmother Kashmir Kaur and aunt Rajwant Kaur tearfully said that the robbers would have taken everything from the house, but not Daljit. Meanwhile, providing information on the matter, DSP Atul Soni said that the police have begun investigating the case from various angles and have formed separate teams to scan approximately 117 cameras. He said that the accused will be arrested soon.
