Check the Forecast for Your City Here. New updates regarding the weather in Punjab have emerged. In fact, the state is witnessing another significant shift in weather patterns, driven by cool winds. This change is largely due to intermittent rainfall over the past few days, which has brought down the temperature. According to data from the Meteorological Department, a drop of 5.4 degrees Celsius has been recorded in the temperature—which is 2.2 degrees lower than normal.

**Rain Alert Issued Until April 8**
The Chandigarh center of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain alert—accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms—for most parts of the state, effective from today until April 8. According to the Meteorological Department’s forecast for today, adverse weather conditions are expected in 22 districts. Specifically, there is a risk of thunderstorms and lightning strikes in eight districts: Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Rupnagar, Gurdaspur, Nawanshahr, Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala, and Mohali.

**Appeal for Caution**
Meanwhile, 14 districts—Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Faridkot, Muktsar, Moga, Bathinda, Ludhiana, Barnala, Mansa, and Sangrur—are likely to experience rain accompanied by strong winds and overcast skies. The Meteorological Department has warned that wind speeds could reach 40–50 kilometers per hour in the coming days, and a ‘Yellow Alert’ will remain in effect across the state. This change in weather is expected to bring some relief to the public, offering a respite from the heat. In light of these changing weather conditions, authorities have appealed to the public to exercise caution and to avoid venturing outdoors unnecessarily during periods of rain and strong winds.
