A commotion erupted near the Bhagwan Valmiki Temple in Fazilka when police issued a traffic challan for a car belonging to a man who had gone to pick up a pizza order from a nearby private restaurant. Kabbi Warwal, a resident of village Badha, stated that he had come to collect a pizza at the request of his children and had parked his car along the roadside. He explained that his family and children were seated inside the vehicle, and the engine was running; however, when he stepped out after placing his order, the police had already issued a challan for the car. Angered by the situation, Kabbi Warwal recorded a video of the police vehicle and circulated it widely on social media.
He argued that if his car was deemed to be on the “wrong side” because it was parked outside the white demarcation line, then the police’s own vehicle—which was parked in the middle of the road—should be subject to the same scrutiny. He further alleged that no traffic officer was present at the scene, and the police personnel left the spot immediately after he began recording the video. Conversely, Police Officer Jagdish Singh refuted these allegations, asserting that the vehicle was indeed parked illegally and that its engine was *not* running. He stated that the police issued the challan only after waiting for approximately 15 to 20 minutes. The officer clarified that appropriate action would be taken against anyone found violating traffic regulations.
