The police have intensified the pace of their investigation into the murder of digital content creator Kanchan Kumari, alias “Kamal Kaur Bhabhi.” Three mobile phones belonging to the case’s prime accused, Amritpal Singh Mehron, have been sent for forensic analysis; these are expected to reveal crucial secrets regarding the conspiracy behind the murder and the accused’s wider network. DSP Sarabjit Singh Brar stated that the interrogation of the accused is ongoing; however, given the sensitive nature of the case, further details are not being disclosed at this time. Meanwhile, the victim’s two mobile phones remain missing, and the search for them has been stepped up.
**Arrested at Indira Gandhi International Airport**
Police investigations have revealed that, following the crime, the accused fled the country and had been hiding in the UAE. He was arrested on April 10 at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. According to sources, a security agency in the UAE detained him on suspicion, following which he was deported to India. The police had already issued a Lookout Circular against the accused, and the process for issuing a Red Notice through Interpol had also been initiated. Significantly, the accused’s mobile phones—which had been seized by UAE authorities—have now been handed over to Indian investigative agencies.
**Viral Video Also on Investigative Agencies’ Radar**
Sources claim that these mobile phones could yield significant clues regarding the conspiracy hatched prior to the murder, potential accomplices, and the accused’s digital activities. Furthermore, a video that went viral after the murder is also under the scrutiny of investigative agencies; in this video, the accused allegedly appeared to confess to the crime and attempted to link it to “obscene content.” Currently, the police are working to get to the bottom of the case by examining every possible angle. It is believed that further major revelations regarding this sensational murder case may emerge in the coming days.
